"First my family drove to Caldwell and picked up the chicks. We put the put the chicks in a box in the back of the suburban and Austin
and me were annoyed by the chicks. And
then we went to a campsite and we ate our lunch. And we also saw a deer. And then we went out of the campsite after we
went to the bathroom. And then we got
back into the car and then we kept driving to Amy & Kendall’s house. And then we got everything out of our car and
then we set up our tent in their backyard.
We had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. On the third day we went on a hike and roxy
got needles from a porcupine. On the 4th of July we rode on a horse
and Mom was bucked off a horse. I loved
to play with the dogs and we played with the baby chicks. We named them fluffy, raven, golden
eagle. A few days later Tanner started
reading Harry Potter. For breakfast we
watched a movie, Ice Age and kendall taught us to put cereal in a cup and eat
out of a cup while we were watching a movie.
After we got dressed we went outside and we threw balls for the dogs to
catch. And then we went to the river and
I found a rock and I was using it as a whale.
We also threw balls in the river so roxy and Dewey would go get
them. The dogs names are Roxy and
Dewey. We went to the blue grass
festival and we started listening to songs and
ate delicious kettle corn. Then
we went to a field and we found some leaf fossils. Every once in a while we would sit on the
couch and relax. Austin me and Quentin ran
around the house because there was a hall that we could run through and in a
circle around the house. "
Futher details. We went to visit Amy & Kendall in Fossil, OR. They live on/next to a small farm, with two dogs, two horses, a couple roosters, and a few hens. We brought 40-ish chicks to them from a store in Caldwell, these baby chicks chirped non-stop for the entire 6 hour drive. Poor Clayton & Austin were stuck in the third row right in front of the chicks. The boys had a great time playing with the dogs, running around the yard, and spending a lot of time outside. We really did find some fossils on the edge of the football field at the High School in town. It was easier than I thought it would be. We don't have great pictures, but the boys played with the chicks A LOT. They were in and out of the shed multiple times each day. They would pick them up, pet them, put them on their shoulder, let them play on the hay bales and a lot of different things. It is a miracle that no chick died from Caldwell until after we left to go home. Thanks Amy & Kendall for letting us stay with you. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again.
